2026 Sound Atlas Festival Composers
Contemporary music creation is the artistic soul of the Sound Atlas Festival. We are delighted and honoured to be ambassadors for each composer’s distinct artistic voice in a warm and open-minded community that embraces many creative practices and influences.
The 2026 Sound Atlas Festival features the following living composers in order of appearance:
Anthony J. Lanman, Kirk O’Riordan, David Rakowski, Tonia Ko, Mary Kouyoumdjian, Joan Tower, Kevin Day, Dorothy Chang, Ken Thomson, Rod Thomas Squance, Zaheer-Abbas Janmohamed, Gene Koshinski, Stephen Chatman, Takako Ono, Minoo Dixon, Nina Shekhar, Vincent Ho, Chen Yihan, Maryam Sirvan, Milad Bagheri, Daniel Pelton, Jens Ibsen, Jessie Montgomery, Vivian Fung, Michael Gordon, Esa-Pekka Salonen, and Fjola Evans.
This incredible lineup reflects this year’s theme of Realms of Influence not as hierarchy, but as conversation. Established voices share space with emerging ones; acoustic ritual collides with digital speculation; local histories resonate alongside global idioms. We invite you to explore their websites, learn more about them, and engage with the composers featured in the 2026 Sound Atlas Festival.
